Enrollment

Enrollment in LPB will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration opens Monday, August 12th and will close on Monday, September 9th.

Tuition

Tuition is $275.00 for the year. When enrolling, families may only purchase one ticket per family. The ticket is equivalent to the registration for one family.
If tuition is cost prohibitive, please email cforeman@mdsc.org as partial scholarships are available. Tuition and instructional materials may be reimbursable by your local area support agency (i.e. DDS, etc.)!
Registration gives you access to the following: monthly live parent sessions and Q+A's, a full Google Drive of resources and materials, access to session recordings, a free Raz-Kids account, support from teachers between sessions, and meeting other families!

Location/Structure of Program

Parent Sessions will meet one Saturday a month on Zoom for 90 minutes. Throughout the program year, there will be two in-person Curriculum Days. Curriculum Day is an opportunity for families to bring their student in to practices academic and social skills taught in parent-sessions. There will be an additional mid-week evening "check-in" session halfway through the program.

Instructional Materials

You have the option to separately purchase instructional materials ($200) or download and print materials for free, though neither is required. These instructional materials can be worked on at home with your child to support the session content taught each month. After registration, you will receive a welcome email with details on how to access materials. It is strongly recommended that Level 1 families utilize materials throughout the program (either purchasing or downloading and printing for free).

Note: Instructional Materials are not included in the Google Drive.

Level Enrollment

Families will select the individual level (Level 1, 2, 3) that most appropriately fits the current skill level of their child. For 2024-25 programming, Levels 2 and 3 will meet together. Skills within each individual level will be addressed in each session. Levels are not limited to age/grade, they are a general age/grade range for the skills being worked on. Families with learners working on similar skills may enroll in parent session that is most appropriate for that learner. You may repeat any level you have previously enrolled in!

Description of Levels

*Level 1 is for families new to LPB or with a student in pre-school to 1st grade or between the ages of 3-7, beginning to show an interest in letters and numbers and able to attend to an activity for 5-10 minutes. Families registering for this level should have students able to understand at least 50 words.
*Level 2 is for returning Level 1 families or families new to LPB with a student in 1st to 3rd grade or between the ages of 6-9. Level 2 builds on skills acquired in Level 1 and families registering for this level should have students with Level 1 foundational skills.  We will be working with predictable text such as carrier phrases and sentences with familiar pattern and repetition. Students will be developing beginning text-based comprehension skills such as understanding new vocabulary and recalling what they have just read. On the numeracy front, students should already have a familiarity with numbers as we’ll be introducing arithmetic operations.
*Level 3 is for returning Level 2 families or families new to LPB with a student in 2nd to 5th grade or between the ages of 8-12. Level 3 builds on skills acquired in Level 2 and families registering for this level should have students with Level 2 foundational skills. They should be comfortable working with predictable text as we will be introducing sentences that have less repetition and reliance on pattern.  Students will be developing within-the text comprehension skills using strategies to understand and sequence the main idea and details of what they have read. On the numeracy front, we will continue to build on arithmetic operations and applying these to time and money concepts.

Note: Level 2 and 3 will be combined into one class for the 2024-25 program year.

2024-2025 Program Schedule

*Levels are not limited to age/grade, they are a general range for the skills being worked on. Families with learners working on similar skills may enroll in whichever level is most appropriate for their learner

We look forward to working with your family!
