Our theme for 2023 is Reach, and we hope you join us in-person on Sunday, October 8th in Wakefield along Lake Quannapowitt as we celebrate and explore how we can REACH individually and collectively to ensure all people with Down syndrome have access to quality health care, inclusive education, employment opportunities and cutting edge research.

The Buddy Walk® Program is MDSC's largest fundraising and awareness event of the year, attracting over 4,000 participants and raising funds to fulfill our mission and purpose.  The Buddy Walk Program gives individuals, schools, community groups, and local businesses across the state an opportunity to get involved in mini fundraising campaigns and events year-round, all intended to promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.

Your support makes the MDSC programs possible including:

  • Parents First Call Program, a volunteer, statewide group of trained parent mentors available 24/7 to listen, share, answer questions, and provide valuable information

  • MDSC Cares a support program for families whose child with Down syndrome is experiencing an extended hospital stay and/or ongoing complex medical care

  • Education programming, including the Educators Forum and Annual Conference, Meaningful Inclusion Educators Guide and the Parents Resource Volunteer Program

  • Self-Advocate Programs like Advocates in Motion, our Self-Advocate Advisory Council, and the Your Next Star Employment Program

  • Affiliate programs including Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome (D.A.D.S.) and the Down Syndrome-Autism Connection that serve the entire Down syndrome community

  • Strong advocacy on critical issues facing our community on a state and national level

All of these programs have directly led to better lives for people with Down syndrome in Massachusetts and beyond. Join us and be a part of the warmth and determination of our community.
